Regensburg is the third largest university of applied sciences in Bavaria. Eight departments and 35 degree programs (2010) a wide variety of opportunities to more than 6600 students. The numerous, extremely interesting areas of specialisation meet the needs of different talents and inclinations. For example, in Bavaria, Mathematics and Microsystems Engineering can only be studied at the University of Applied Sciences Regensburg. It was also the first to offer courses in European Business Studies, Computer Science and Mechatronics. The master courses, for example Electrical and Microsystems Engineering, and a wide range of adult education courses are coordinated by the Centre for Adult Education and Knowledge Management.
The Institute of Applied Research and Partnership with Industry carries out projects in collaboration with partners in industry, business and social institutions and authorities. These partners are active in the university board of governors, the board of trustees, the Association of Friends of the University, the University Foundation and other bilateral projects and working groups. The city, located in an outstandingly beautiful area, is agreeably historical yet at the same time modern and dynamic – a cosmopolitan student city.
