The Fachhochschule Landshut sees itself as a “university of applied sciences” in every respect: practical application is top priority, both on the study programmes and in research and development projects. The close collaboration between industry and the university that results from the transfer of knowledge and technology gives stimulus to both sides, guarantees practice-based, up-to-date teaching, and offers the students the opportunity to do interesting internships.
Great emphasis is placed on international relations: students can develop the knowledge of their subject and their personal skills while studying at one of the partner universities around the world. Connections to internationally operating companies are used to organise internships abroad. At the university it is also important to develop social and personal skills, as well as acquiring specialised knowledge. These skills include the ability to make decisions, communication skills, the desire to work with others, the ability to see the whole picture, flexibility, and leadership skills. In this way, graduates of the University of Applied Sciences have the best possible preparation for working life here or elsewhere in the world.
