Hof University is very active in applied research in cooperation with global players, SMEs, industry and research centers. Space related topics belong to our most interesting research areas. Hof University has contributed to the central information system "Earthnet Online" of the European Space Agency ESA. Internationally we cooperate successfully with the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.

 

Further research projects focus on spatial search engines, IT security concepts, computer based testing of products in the domain of consumer electronics and the development of hardware and software for the data acquisition from production machines.

 

The newly established Institute for Information Systems (ISY) links up the needs of business with research and development in the field of information systems. 

The „Factory of the Future" is innovation at its best. This laboratory test allows students to interconnect different study programmes, especially at the interface between economics and technology. The simulation of real business processes generates highly qualified graduates. With this project and the initiation of the study programme Mechanical Engineering in the winter semester 2008/09, our university is able to support the regional metal working industry (with its multitude of medium-sized mechanical engineering and tool making companies), the automotive suppliers and the plastics industry.
