The Deggendorf University provides wide-ranging expertise for successful collaboration projects in the field of R & D. Sponsored by the Bavarian State government, the Federal government and the EU, several applied research and development projects have been established on campus in which professors, doctoral candidates, graduate students, alumni and companies work together. The application-based research includes, in particular, opto-technologies, semiconductor and material technology, product engineering and mechatronics, laser and optoelectronics, plasma coating and surface analytics, wireless communication and building automation, business administration software, e-business and entrepreneurship.
In four newly established technology campuses linked to the university, various research projects are run in close co-operation with businesses, public institutions, and in connection with the international science community.

 

The cooperation normally has an inter-disciplinary structure and enables students to continually gain practical experience and to form useful contacts at an early stage in their working careers. In addition to this, the international research projects offer students plenty of opportunities to work in university laboratories and with research partners in Europe and abroad. This guarantees an education with scientific practice and graduates with worldwide employability.
