All research at Coburg UoAS is application-oriented. Within the six faculties, research projects of the (local) economy, as well as state-sponsored assignments are carried out. The students are involved through their seminar papers, final thesis and increasingly by doctorate studies. Within these studies, Coburg UoAS cooperates with national and international universities.

Coburg UoAS is closely connected with the local and international economy. Managers of various companies are involved in lectures and seminars at the university. In return, professors of Coburg UoAS share their knowledge with the companies.

The university's so-called ForschungsTransferCenter FTC (Research Transfer Center) is the first contact address for companies and it organizes the knowledge transfer between the university and businesses.
