The research profile is reflected in the range of courses on offer and their areas of specialisation. The many years of practical experience that are necessary before a person can be appointed professor at Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences have proved to be of particular advantage here. The resulting contacts to businesses and other institutes guarantee the continual adaptation of research and teaching to the needs of the market. The areas of specialisation on the business administration course are currently business and personnel management, financial services, marketing, taxation and auditing, business organisation and information management, and business management and controlling. The business administration and law course offers areas of specialisation in selected legal aspects relating to trade and industry. An extremely up-to-date field of research is that of knowledge asset management. This field of research deals with the conditions of a quantification of the knowledge available in businesses and organisations. The main focuses of research of the three engineering courses (electrical engineering, mechatronics, and industrial engineering and management) are closely aligned to the needs of industry in the region. These are mainly control and automation engineering, microelectronics, materials engineering, vehicle mechatronics and electromagnetic compatibility. But the main subject areas of logistics, production engineering and robotics also form the basis of applied research and development projects.
